The international S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition concluded on June 26th at The Mall space in Milan, managed by Filmmaster with creative direction from YAM112003 agency and Alessandro Rosso Incentive. The event featured 20 kitchens constructed by Alessandro Rosso Incentive and coordinated by Alma, the International School of Italian Cuisine. Twenty young chefs and designers competed after months of global selection, receiving training and support from renowned chefs throughout the preparation phases.
The S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition unfolded in two moments, spanning morning and evening sessions, each lasting over 12 hours. In the first part, young talents showcased their creations, racing for a spot among the 3 finalists, assessed by a distinguished panel comprising 7 renowned chefs and 7 prominent figures from the fashion industry. The morning session featured 10 kitchens for chefs and 20 stations for designers. Later, 320 selected guests were treated to a dinner in a lavishly designed room, complete with a 30-meter LED Wall showcasing the essence of S.Pellegrino and the creativity of the young talents, alongside a vibrant mise en place in collaboration with Vogue. During dinner, finalists collaborated with designers to present their creations in a fine dining spectacle, presented by Alessandro Cattelan and the musical accompaniment of Street Clerks. Surprise guest Simone al Ani, winner of Italia's Got Talent, added a touch of magic to the evening. The event culminated in the crowning of the Best Young Chef, Mark Moriarty, the Best Couple from Amaz restaurant in Lima, Maria José Jordan and Paula, and the Best Designer, Xiao Li from China.
Filmmaster won the first prize at the BEA Italia with S.Pellegrino Young Chef. The event had good media coverage despite it being a corporate event linked to invitations, both due to the close partnership with Conde Nast editions and because the theme of fine dining is extremely current thanks to the temporal link with Expo Milano 2015. For this occasion the hashtag #SPYoungChef was created.
